Designing the Computational Image, Imagining Computational Design
Publication Design
For Daniel Cardoso Llach & Theodora Vardouli at the CMU School of Architecture
2023
Pittsburgh, PA

Designing the Computational Image, Imagining Computational Design illuminates in unprecedented detail the confluence of technical innovations in software, geometry, and hardware, tracing the emergence of a vibrant field of interdisciplinary research and practice. I created visually engaging page layouts for the 386-page publication utilizing a design framework created by operative.space. After working closely with the authors through many thorough rounds of image and book edits, we came together with Applied Research + Design Publishing to facilitate a smooth printing process and ultimately celebrated the culmination of everyone’s efforts at a book launch at CMU’s Frank-Ratche STUDIO for Creative Inquiry.

This project was completed through Point Line Projects and in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon Architecture and operative.space studio.
