Frick Park Summer Trail Race Series @ Paper + Dirt

Paper + Dirt is a bookshop in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA showcasing independent magazines and art/design books, and hosting events centered around publications and movement. Located just beyond Frick Park - Pittsburgh’s largest municipal park - we wanted to utilize our proximity to this large green space and invite folks to explore the park's robust trail system. We organized the first trail race series in Frick Park and simultaneously organized Pittsburgh’s Inaugural Trail Running Film Festival hosted at the nearby local gear shop Three Rivers Outdoors Co. Growing out of an interest in more running events, the Saturday Run series offers a more relaxed environment with the perk of free post-run coffee by local roaster Arriviste.

I brainstormed, drafted, and created visual and video content on social media, posters, and a landing page for each of these events. Creating playful and inviting marketing materials and successfully marketing these events, I helped gather over 150 participants in the trail race series.

This series of projects was completed through Paper + Dirt, a project I co-founded and where I was the creative director and program coordinator from 2023-2024.
